James Hugh L Carter, 79, of Hamilton passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at UAB Hospital. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, 2:00 until service time beginning at 4:00 at Fairview Freewill Baptist Church located at 242 County Highway 126 Hamilton, AL. Burial will follow in the adjoining Cemetery. Survivors include, Wife: Jeanette Lindsey Carter, Son: Norman (Betty) Carter, Granddaughters: Lyndsay (Derek) McCollum and Lora Carter, Great Grandchildren: Ari and Arwen McCollum, Sister: Janice (Cully) Hartsell, Brother: Keith Carter, A host of Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by, Father: Floyd Carter, Mother: Vernell Carter and Brother: Marty Carter
